ABOUT THE ARCHIBULL

The Archibull Prize is an innovative hands-on program that sees students research an agricultural industry and expresses their findings through artwork

​

Now in its 10th year ‘the Archies’, as they are affectionately known, have reached over 200,000 students and chalked up some impressive successes. The Grand Champion Archibull for 2018 was designed by Hurlstone Agricultural High School in New South Wales and Reserve Champion was created by students at Calvary Christian College Carbrook Senior Campus in Queensland.

Put simply, The Archibull Prize is a successful addition to the learning program for students, teachers love it because it meets the needs of the curriculum and enhance classroom engagement, and communities are able to engage with the program and schools in a meaningful way.

Over the years, our school has had an amazing series of Archibull entries displaying the immense amount of talent and artistry.

​

We have had previous success in the Archibull Prize. From our 2010 entry Rural and Urban (see below), which displayed two beautifully painted, polarising cows on a large scale…

…to our 2014 entry NiCow, which illustrated the ties between China and our Australian dairy industry in its intricate designs. (see below)

and finally our 2018 entry, Brahman: The Sacred Cow which ties culture and the vegetarian diet with the horticulture industry.
