Today marks the day that we officially start the practical elements of Archie. We invited in our in-school felting expert, Mrs Wheeler, to help us out in the fundamental basics of felting, including dry and wet felting. And oh boy! There's alot of work to get to. Basically in a nut shell, we started wet felting small piece to test and practice our skills and colours.

Wet felting is the process of combining layers of wool roving and/or wool yarns into one flat piece of felt fabric. IT'S SO EXHAUSTING. I can say on the behalf of everyone that we were all mentally and physically drained after just making a 1x1m square of felt for our base.

Dry needle felting is the process of using needles to "lock" the wool fibres to each other. We figured that this method would be useful for adding the finer details after our base colours were laid out.

Enjoy the art vlog 😊
