To help our understanding of consumer demand affecting the environment, we spent today’s lesson watching an ABC’s documentary series “War on Waste” where Craig Reucassel takes a first-hand look at household and retail waste.
The episode that we watched explored Australians’ reliance on single-use plastic products, which include water bottles, straws and plastic bags that end up in waterways and damaging our marine environments.

Looking further into the series we came across an episode where Craig explored the impacts of Australia’s obsession with fast fashion, which he identified as a global environmental crisis. This episode, in particular, piqued our interest as we could link it to our focus on the Wool and Sheep Industry.
